Balance Discs
A balance disc or fit disc improves posture, reduces low-back strain, and strengthens the core. When placed on top of the chair seat, it encourages proper posture by making slouching difficult. It also strengthens abdominal and low-back muscles. A balance disc is used in stability routines and increases the intensity of exercises like lunges, squats and crunches by standing on it.

It is a good substitute for an stability ball when travelling. Balance and coordination declines over time. This is the reason why the elderly are highly unsteady and prone to falling. This can be prevented by doing balance exercises and using devices such as the balance disc. Most balance discs are inflatable using regular needle pumps used to inflate sports ball and bicycle tires. Adding more air makes the disc firmer.
